Secret to Playing Well Together: Separation

Separation is the key to playing well together as a band. Separation is taking turns playing in different ranges. Separation keeps the song from becoming sounding dull and muddled. This is the single greatest mistake skilled solo instrumentalists make when playing in a band.

Paul Baloche takes you through the evolution of a praise band and gives some examples on how instrumentalists can implement separation.

Heart of Worship

Leading praise is more than a perfect performance! It's all about engaging the congregation's heart. If you put on the greatest performance of all time and don't get your congregation to engage, then that's all your performance will be: a performance. Worship is so much more than keeping beat, staying on key, hitting the notes, and perfect execution.

To really be clear about what worship is, check out Joe Horness' talk entitled "Back to the Heart of Worship" which was given at the 2005 Willow Arts Conference. It is the clearest presentation on worship is I've ever heard. Joe Horness is a godly man who really loves the Lord, and I believe that you'll get a lot out of this message.

If I can get a hold of a free version, I'll link it here. Meanwhile, it's for sale at the Willow Creek website: Back to the Heart of Worship. If you're a praise leader, you MUST listen to this!

Hello World!

Praise Team Guide was started to be a service for Christian praise teams and musicians. Our hope is not to create the most comprehensive Christian praise site on the net. That'd take a lot of work and frankly, we're quite busy. But what we can do is bring together some of the best video, audio, and articles we come across on the web in the hopes that it'll benefit someone along the way!
